It's self explanatory, I suppose, and yet so very hard to do. From experience Meic2 expresses gentle patience in his poem, "HOLDING UP". It's about barriers which exist between you and another, and how giving up the pain will allow the other to help you through. (Selected by +jsenn)

HOLD UP

What's so precious you hold on so?
so terrible you cannot tell?

Hold back,
if you must, though I would share the pain
as well ask my portion of the joy.

Hold back,
if you need, though I would never claim
a greater part than you would give.

Hold back,
if you fear, though I am often told
a lonely hurt hurts more alone.

Hold back,
if holding holds you still;
Hold back,
though holding's holding still;

Hold back,
and while you're holding on,
hold on to me, and
I'll hold on

Sometimes a barrier exists and one finds it difficult to share - perhaps something which happened long ago or something [thought to be] shameful. Or a simple fear or a forlorn hope.

This is my life in a nut.

No, not a nutshell. A nut.

Beautiful work, as usual. I love the simple strength you convey, the longing to share if only the other will open to you. Simple, but effectively lovely.
